Five Facterra differentiators that no other platform offers together
Facterra licence-free subcontractor access
Facterra sends a secure link. The subcontractor completes the work order with photos, readings, and voice notes. No seat cost, no app download, no onboarding. Per-seat competitors structurally cannot copy this — their revenue model depends on charging for every user who touches the system.
For O&M contractors managing dozens of subcontractors across hundreds of renewable energy or data centre sites, per-seat pricing scales costs with the wrong variable. The subcontractor who completes three work orders a month should not cost the same as the operations manager who lives in the system.
Facterra integrated OptaPlanner scheduler-optimiser
Facterra includes an OptaPlanner-based constraint solver inside the platform — not a separate product, not a bolt-on integration, not an add-on with its own licence fee. It sees work orders, asset data, inventory, and workforce records simultaneously because they are all in the same Facterra database.
Enterprise FSM platforms offer scheduling as an expensive add-on. Light CMMS tools do not offer it at all. Facterra includes it because scheduling without asset data, parts availability, and workforce records is just a calendar with colours.
Facterra AI trust architecture
Facterra AI follows five rules without exception: cited-or-silent, asks never guesses, never signs off, one-step undo, schema per tenant. Plus PM program generation from OEM manuals, text-to-workflow with mandatory backtest, and multilingual voice capture.
Most platforms add AI as a feature layer — a chatbot, a recommendation engine, a summariser. Facterra's AI is constrained by a trust architecture that makes it safe to use in regulated environments where an AI hallucination about a maintenance procedure has real consequences.
Facterra evidence-grade work records
Every Facterra work order produces a timestamped evidence pack: who did the work, when, with what readings, with what photos, at what location, following what procedure. The evidence is a byproduct of doing the work in Facterra, not a report someone creates afterward.
SOC 2 audits, Uptime Institute certifications, asset owner SLA disputes, and contract renewals all require the same thing: proof that the work was done, by whom, and when. Systems that record completion timestamps without granular step evidence fail this test.
Facterra: seven years of production at 50+ facilities
Facterra was built 2017–2023 and deployed across manufacturing, energy, and food production facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia. Multi-tenant Django backend with PostgreSQL on AWS. Not a prototype rebranded as a product.
Facterra now serves distributed critical infrastructure — renewable energy sites and data centres. The asset management, work order, and scheduling foundations were built and stress-tested in high-volume industrial operations before being focused on this market.
